Houston Rockets guard Russell Westbrook is a California native and today near his home in Compton he attended a rally protesting social injustices.  Many prominent athletes from the world of sports have spoken out against said injustices with some even evoking the position of Colin Kaepernick from the fall of 2016.

Members of the Milwaukee Bucks attended a local rally Saturday and the likes of Elton Brand, Tobias Harris, Stephen Curry and Jaylen Brown have joined their local protests to make a stand.

Alongside of Russell Westbrook was another NBA Compton native DeMar DeRozan of the San Antonio Spurs.  While at the protest Westbrook stated the following:

“Protect your team. Protect your family. In times like this, we need to stick together.”
