What are the odds?
Who would have thought that they would be here right now?
The loyal, die hard nation that calls South Beach home knew that this was possible but yet more improbable than anything else. Six years removed from the departure of the False King, the Miami Heat are in the 2020 NBA Finals. In perhaps, the wackiest year of the all the greatest NBA franchise of the last decade is back for another championship run.
It was just a summer ago when NBA pundits and insiders thought that Miami Heat were in a cap hell with no future in sight and once the trade for Jimmy Butler was executed, more questions, along with eyebrows were raised.
Known as a cancer in team circles many wondered how Butler would fit with the Heat’s Culture but the fanbase knew better. The Fan base understood that the Miami Heat and Jimmy Butler were destined to wed. The Miami Heat Nation understood what Butler could bring. It was a match made in heaven and one that both sides wanted desperately.
“I tried to get to Miami earlier than June, if you remember me coming out of Minnesota,” Butler told Yahoo Sports, referring to his trade request last season. “So, people are overlooking all the facts…“Mother——s act like I’m not a good basketball player…Like for real. Just think about that. Like I can’t come in and make a huge difference. I’m not going to say ‘carry a team’ because nobody can do it by themselves and I mean that. I’m not putting it all on myself, but I know what I’m capable of. I know what I bring to any and all situations, and the group of guys that we have is the group of guys that I want to play with.”
