Warriors Win 12th Straight over Chicago, 112-102

The hottest team in the NBA continues to roll.

The Golden State Warriors fought off a Chicago rally in the second half, to win its 12th straight game, a franchise record.  The Warriors have a league best 17-2 record.  Draymond Green, drained 3’s all game long and finished with a game high 31 points. Klay Thompson scored 24 points and Steph Curry had 19.  The Warriors have it all working. They are crafty, can pass the ball, and shoot from all areas on the court.

Chicago played hard but they made 23 turnovers to GS’s 11. According to Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau, that was the difference in the game.

“We made too many turnovers,” Thibodeau said. “We need to practice and practice hard and get on the same page.”

The Bulls now have a 2-5 home record. And, Thibodeau wasn’t happy.  “We have much work to do,” he said.

The bright spot for Chicago was the return of Taj Gibson who scored 12 points. Pau Gasol had an outstanding game scoring 22 while hauling in 20 boards. Jimmy Butler led Chicago with 24 points.
Derrick Rose scored 9 in 31 minutes of action.

In warmups before the game, Rose donned a T-shirt that said, “I can’t breath” protesting the death of Eric Garner, who was forcibly taken down in a chokehold in Staten Island, NY this past summer.  Garner later died, and a grand jury did not indict a policeman, who allegedly took the lead in subduing Garner.  Protests have been held in major cities in recent days.

The Bulls need to firm up the offense. Part of the reason is that key players have been hurt.  The Bulls remind one of a large freight train that is picking up speed. Once this team gets going, they will be tough to beat.
